RSS, or Really Simple Syndication is a way that websites can alert you to new material. News items, blogs, types of alerts are things that are commonly RSSed. You can recognize RSS by the little orange button
. My homepage, http://profglass.wordpress.com can be read as an RSS feed and homework for CMP courses are supplied via RSS. To read RSS, you need either to use an reader such as bloglines, put the feed in a portal such as your google or aol homepage or subscribe with IE 7 or Firefox.
There is a new tool out there called SendMeRSS (http://sendmerss.com) that will email you news items. So if you are in a CMP course, you can have my homework assignments emailed to you. The service is free and they add a little ad at the bottom (like Yahoo email). No need to sign - up for an account.
